Contested Vulnerabilities: Refugees’ Experiences of Humanitarian programs
This webinar draws on recent ethnographic research conducted in a refugee settlement in Uganda. It examines Humanitarian programs in the Global South and evaluates their capacity to address immediate needs of the “most vulnerable”. The workshop is part of the European Union‘s Horizon 2020 funded Project “VULNER: Vulnerabilities Under the Global Protection Regime”.
How do the vulnerability categories work in situations of resource limitations? What are refugees’ concrete experiences of vulnerability in Uganda? How do migrants negotiate, resist, or contest vulnerabilities categories?
