Revitalising Regions: Strengthening Attractiveness through Education

Join our expert speakers as we explore practical examples and strategies for addressing local challenges, fostering growth, enhancing collaboration, and revitalizing communities.

Tuesday, 01 April 2025, 10:00-11:30 PM CET (Zoom)

The Mapineq Project invites you to join an online workshop on territorial inequalities and local challenges and strategies, particularly educational opportunities, in enhancing the attractiveness of regions and reducing regional inequalities. We will discuss best practices and opportunities for growth, collaboration, and revitalisation within disadvantaged communities in Finland.

How can these challenges be addressed, and how can young people be encouraged to stay or return to areas suffering from population loss? What role do regional educational opportunities, local labor market conditions, and available health and family services play in reducing future inequalities?

The event will be facilitated by Jani Erola, Professor of Sociology at the University of Turku and the Mapineq project leader.

The language of the meeting will be Finnish, and there will be Finnish-English interpretation service available for international audience.
