ESHD announces this year's ESHD Award Winners

The European Society of Historical Demography announced the winner of this year's four ESHD's awards. They include:

Massimo Livi Bacci Award

The Massimo Livi Bacci Award has been established by the European Society of Historical Demography to recognize the life-time achievements of outstanding ESHD members. The two award winners are Frans van Poppel (NIDI) and Tommy Bengtsson (Lund University).

Roger Schofield Award

Roger Schofield Award has been established to recognize the best paper presented by a young demographer at the European Society of Historical Demography Conference. The winner for this category is Hampton G. Gaddy (Nuffield College, University of Oxford).

Louis Henry Awar

The Louis Henry Award has been established by the European Society of Historical Demography to recognize methodological innovations in data collection, visualization or analysis. This award went to Joana Maria Pujadas Mora (Open University of Catalonia and Center for Demographic Studies-UAB) and her team members.

Tamara Hareven Award

The Tamara Hareven Award has been established by the European Society of Historical Demography to recognize the best book published between ESHD Conferences. The winner of this award is Violetta Hionidou for her book Abortion and Contraception in Modern Greece, 1830-1967: Medicine, Sexuality and Popular Culture.
