The Centre for Population Change (CPC) has won the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Prize for the Outstanding Public Policy Impact category. Says the ESRC, the CPC's "improved methods for measuring fertility, migration and mortality in the UK has allowed better policy decision-making."
The ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize, now in its eighth year, is an annual opportunity to recognise and celebrate the success of ESRC-funded researchers in achieving and enabling outstanding economic or societal impact from excellent research. The Centre is a joint partnership between the Universities of Southampton, St. Andrews, and Stirling and a founding partner of Population Europe. It is composed of Professor Jane Falkingham, Professor Maria Evandrou, Professor Ann Berrington, Professor Jakub Bijak, Professor Corrado Giulietti, Professor Peter W F Smith, Professor Athina Vlachantoni, Professor Jackline Wahba, Teresa McGowan and Becki Dey.
