For the first time since the launch of Population Europe's Policy Lab, its Advisory Board members met together in Berlin. On November 25, 2024, the advisors were welcomed by Population Europe at the office of the Max Planck Society. They began by discussing the political challenges of a Europe in demographic transition, including: social cohesion, quality information, and resilience.

The Board will advise Population Europe's science-for-policy outreach. The outreach activities are designed for policymakers, business leaders, civil society stakeholders and media representatives. They are planned and executed by the Population Europe project coordinators in cooperation with research institutions from the network. See the "FutuRes" Policy Lab for an example of our work.

The “Population Europe Policy Lab”, launched this year will streamline the activities of Population Europe, combining practitioners' experience with the latest scientific evidence. As a network of leading demographic research institutes, we ensure that policymakers have access to the most up-to-date and non-partisan evidence as well as latest projections on future population trends. The goal of the Policy Lab is to identify innovative solutions and best practices to meet the challenges ahead.
