This event aims at exploring the new and emerging health challenges that adolescents and young adults may face within the European context, also looking at the consequences that such challenges might bring about later in life. Socioeconomic, cultural, educational and other factors affecting young people’s health and health behaviors will examined, with a specific focus on issues and areas of concern and relative, potential policy solutions. We also want to discuss to what extent policies are tackling the key issues identified by scholars so far.

Michael Shanahan, Director, Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development, University of Zurich, Switzerland.

George B. Ploubidis, Professor of Population Health and Statistics, Director of Research & Chief Statistician at the UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies, Department of Social Sciences, University College of London, UK.

Yvonne Kelly, Professor of Life Course Epidemiology, Faculty of Population & Health Sciences, University College of London, UK.

Finally, the presentations will be followed by a panel debate involving researchers and stakeholders from policy and civil society.
