The fourth international FReDA User Conference will be be held in Cologne, Germany, on 26 and 27 November 2026.

The organisers invite submissions from national and international researchers from all disciplines using data from the German Family Demography Panel Study FReDA and/or the adjunct German Family Panel (pairfam), the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS), and the study “Refugees from Ukraine in Germany”.
The conference language is English. The conference aims to provide early-career and experienced researchers with a forum to present preliminary results, receive feedback from experienced data users and staff, and foster future collaborations.
Researchers are invited to submit an abstract by email to freda.conference@gesis.org
Abstracts must not exceed one DIN-A4 page and should include the presentation title as well as the names, email addresses, and institutional affiliations of all authors.
Please specify the data used, research question(s), theoretical background, methods, and first results.
The submission deadline is 10 May 2026. Acceptance will be communicated by 22 May 2026. Depending on the number of submissions, some contributions may be assigned to a poster session. The conference will take place in person.
There is no conference fee; lunch and coffee breaks will be provided. Travel costs cannot be reimbursed. Further information about the conference is available here. The best presentation will be selected by a jury and receive an award.
