Full-time contract for pre-doctoral research staff in training (PIPF) to work in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

PROFILE OF THE POSITION: Sociology and Demography
Description of the tasks:
- Do a maximum of 60 hours of face-to-face teaching in Catalan/Spanish and/or English, per academic year in courses of the teaching programmes of the Department of Political and Social Sciences. Teaching can be carried out either in the morning or in the afternoon.
- Collaboration in research and teaching activities of the department.
Duration of the contract:
The duration of the pre-doctoral contract is one year, and can be extended for a maximum of 3 years subject to the annual evaluation from the Academic Committee of the doctoral programme in which the student is enrolled.
Situations of temporary incapacity, risk during pregnancy and breastfeeding, maternity, adoption or fostering and paternity suspend the calculation of the duration of the contract.
If the beneficiary obtains the title of doctor or completes the doctoral programme, the contract will be terminated on the same day as the defence of the doctoral thesis or on the date on which the beneficiary is cancelled from the programme.
Dedication: Full-time
Incompatibilities: It is incompatible with any other contract during the period of validity
Qualifications
Candidate requirements:
- PhD students enrolled in the academic year 2023-2024.
- Master's students who have been admitted to the PhD programme or are in the process of being selected. To be admitted to the selection process the candidate must fulfil the requirements for admission to a doctoral program.
- Accreditation of linguistic competence (Spanish/Catalan and English) to teach in the department.

Criteria for assessing candidates (merits):
1. Suitability of the candidate to the thematic area of the profile selected - orientation of his/her research, research proposal submitted at the PhD program, specific training in the thematic area, etc. (45 points)
2. Academic training: record of the undergraduate and university master's degree (40 points).
3. CV – publications, attendance at conferences, seminars, letter of recommendation from the thesis supervisor, knowledge transfer etc. (15 points).
