Taking Stock of the Migration Data in Europe

We are pleased to invite you to join our upcoming Webinar ‘Taking stock of the migration data in Europe’ on Friday, May 28 at 13:00 – 14:00 CET, which is part of our activities under the H2020 Project ‘Quantifying Migration Scenarios for Better Policy’ (QuantMig).

This webinar will be divided into two parts. In the first part, the soon to be launched QuantMig data inventory on stock and flow data on migration towards and within the EU will be introduced. This data inventory provides an overview of what data on migration stocks and flows is available, and can assist users in making the right choices in what dataset to choose in order to answer their migration related research question. Details on how the data inventory was created, and the quality assessment framework that is part of it will be introduced. After a demonstration of the data inventory website, a second part of the webinar will be devoted to a conversation with eminent experts on migration microdata: What are the main challenges related to migration now and in the future, and how can microdata provide answers? How can we make microdata known and accessibly to the research community?
