Workshop & Seminar: Inequalities in Health, Longevity and Aging
The workshop and seminar are organized by the Interdisciplinary Centre on Population Dynamics at the University of Southern Denmark, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and the Herczeg Institute on Aging at Tel Aviv University. We invite scholars of all academic ranks, including doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, to participate and present research on inequalities in health, longevity, and aging. The two-day international seminar will be held at Tel Aviv University on May 5-6 followed by a hands-on workshop on data visualization for demographic research using R, on May 7.
The seminar will focus on themes related to trends in life expectancy, healthy life expectancy, and lifespan inequality; causes and consequences of inequalities in health and mortality; modeling and forecasting mortality inequality; methodological innovation in research on aging and its implications for longevity. The seminar is interdisciplinary and submissions will be considered from diverse disciplines and fields of research.
Aims and objectives of the seminar:
- To discuss trends and recent developments in all-cause and cause-specific mortality in different countries.
- To present cutting-edge research on the causes and consequences of inequalities in health and longevity.
- To showcase new methodologies in research on health and aging inequality.
- To foster collaboration in research on aging and health inequalities.
